Letter to the Investor

Whether you are an older investor needing aid managing investments, a middle-aged investor preparing assets for retirement, or a younger investor wishing to understand the basic concepts of investing, I will be your trusted advisor who will place your financial needs above my own.

My clientele consists of nearly 100 families, centered around Chicago, Dallas, and OKC.  Through travel and close personal contact, I meet with each client to establish that intimate relationship which an investor should share with his or her advisor.  We discuss the client's personal situation, gather data that will help in solving challenges the client may face, and craft a personalized plan to move the client toward an end-goal.  It would be my greatest privilege to form such a relationship with you and your family, and to be a part of solidifying your family's financial future.

But I am not satisfied with simply managing your assets.  I will be a firm foundation that will support you when you need it the most and a confidant whom you can trust to handle your concerns with passion and integrity.  I will care not just for your investments, but for you as a person, and for your family.  The better I know you and your unique situation, the more effective my assistance can be.  My aim is to give someone I truly care about the best possible advice and service.

Biography

Much of my early life was spent in the south suburbs of Chicago.  I was born in Chicago Heights and raised in the Park Forest area.  Later in my childhood, my family moved to OKC, where I completed high school.  I have spent a great deal of my life traveling between both regions, and have met a multitude of people with differing backgrounds and circumstances.

After high school, I moved to central Illinois and attended Bradley University, where my mother had spent much of her life working as a secretary for the University.  It was always her dream for me to re-visit my roots and establish a life in Illinois, where I would attain my college degree and start my career.  My majors at Bradley included Economics and Political Science.

Upon receiving my Bachelor of Science degree from the Foster College of Business at Bradley,  I moved to Chicago, where I was offered a position with Morgan Stanley as a new advisor in the downtown Loop location.  After achieving the Series 7, 63, and 65 licenses in early 1997, I began my career by working with clients and families to construct investment portfolios and financial plans, primarily for clients in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs.

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, I started my family in the southern Chicago suburb of Frankfort.  Through this period, much of my time was focused on raising my three kids and working through additional financial education offered by DePaul University, completing their Certificate in Financial Planning program.  Additional time was spent getting involved in local and state government.

Starting in 2007, I chose a new path for my clients, as an advisor working in an independent capacity.  Working independently, my clients were now able to choose between different fee structures, and were free to choose any investment plan or strategy that fit their unique needs.  Each family's needs are different, so each family deserves a personalized investment plan.  It is during this time that I attained my Series 24 license, allowing me to open my own private office.  I also moved my family to central Oklahoma where we began home-schooling my three kids, and where I could travel more extensively to Dallas to meet with the many clients of mine that started relocating there from Chicago.

In 2011, I achieved the Master in Business Administration degree from Oklahoma Christian University, which helped to better understand the needs of investors in the complex worlds of finance, investments, estate planning, and tax matters.  The knowledge I gained with this degree has directly helped many clients.

Recently, in June 2026 I completed the Northwestern University of Chicago Certificate in Certified Financial Planner program.  This curriculum tested my knowledge in six major areas of financial planning, including investments, tax planning, estate planning, insurance products and concepts, and others.  This coursework helped to sharpen my core competencies and refresh my knowledge of industry and regulatory standards. 

In total, I have spent close to three decades working alongside clients to achieve their personal retirement goals and to care for their family’s financial future.  It is my honor to have been involved in so many important decisions for the families I have served, and to have earned and sustained their trust.  Many of the clients I met in the late 1990s are still clients today, and in some cases, I have been entrusted to advise and consult their children and grand-children.
